I have this awesome talent of making myself tired before I even go to a con.

In the last 12 hours I have accomplished:

Lemon basil shortbread (ingredients culled from the garden in my Rhysling-nominated poem The Girl With Two Skins)

Blueberry Goat Cheese Muffins (I am somewhat disappointed in this recipe. They're good, and I'll bring them to my kaffeeklatsch for everyone to nom, but I think I wanted more cheesiness to them.)

3,077 words on Fairyland, Chapter 7 (Still iffy on the title. What Is a Fairy? Maybe.) done. Chapter 8 (Fairy Reels) all mapped out in my head.

Some sleep.

I also made some intense mango-balsamic chutney for the Goblin Fruit party tonight. But that was not in the last 12 hours.

[info]justbeast  is staying home at the last minute, to save money and give him a chance to get some freelance work done. Thus I am driving down to Boston by my lonesome in a few hours, after a long-dreaded trip to the Post Office and an uploading of Pratchett audiobook for the drive. I will be without Loyal Knight for the con, so if'n anyone wants to help with things, I'll be the one with long black hair looking frazzled. My main reading is on Sunday at 11:30 in NH/MA, and I'll be reading from the now-untitled Russian book, unless y'all holler for something else.

In other news, Steampunk Tales has finally opened up to all platforms, not just the iPhone, so you can read my story of angry teenage anarcho-Marxist Luddism, The Anachronist's Cookbook.

I'm pretty damn proud of that title.

Anyway. I, rough beast, slouch toward Boston. Will return with a [info]regyt , a [info]novalis , and a [info]loinfruit , and will have an [info]alankria  mid-week.

I hope to see you all at Readercon! Don't be shy! I only bite if asked nicely.

You need help? I have help.

What Pratchett you listenin' to, huh??

I listened to Men At Arms for the last two days in a show of solidarity for my new weasel, Dr. Cruces.

Dunno. Probably let the boy choose for me. After Hogfather, everything else is #2 or less.

Frankly I think Pyramids is my #1... but I'm a Vimes fanatic, and a sucker for Rincewind.

YES!! I remember pouting quite profusely when the first issue was only for iPhones. I so desperately wanted to read yours and Phil's stories. Now I can!

The Anachronist's Cookbook is brilliant. I should be coding right now but I am reading it instead :D See you at Readercon!

i am sad to miss you. have fun and do not wear yourself out.

Are you not coming? Damn...

Unfortunately, I'll only be there tonight.

Safe travels.

i would like some lemon-basil shortbread. will you post a recipe?

Will you be heard outside readercon whilst in the NH/Boston area?

Ahh, too bad! Am actually home this weekend (MA/NH border) and would have loved to hear you. :-) Next time!

I'll miss you and try for next year. Do put in a pretty word out there for me?
I am off to Chattanooga for a wee small con at which I will certainly catch up on Fairyland. ^_^

Love-bites to you, from afar!
<3

A pretty word? I'm confused...could you not get programming?

Never tried. I am sure it would be fine if I ever asked. what I meant was more like "Oh wouldn't Sara just love this con, I hope she can make it next year" or something the like. I'll send them a note as well, when things calm down for them post-con

Have fun and travel safely--and your baked goods sound wonderful!

Yay! I just bought Steampunk Tales in pdf form and I can't wait to start reading. I am going to read them over the next few days to prolong the goodness. Have a great time at Readercon. =)

The Blueberry & Goat Cheese muffins were absolutely delicious, but I think you're right about the cheesiness. They tasted like blueberry muffins with only a hint of something extra. But you're a wonder to have brought them, thank you, and thank you for all the sessions you did!

*waves to all of you (hopefully) having fun out there in my old stomping-grounds, especially to [info]alankria*

I have to say, though, that flyer would've really given me pause, too. I've never attended ReaderCon before, though, so I have no point for comparison against past versions of the event. Arisia was usually my yearly con-fix, given I was local for a few years.
