I think this is the first spontaneous, in-the-wild, Palimpsest fanfic.

I don't even want to call it fanfic. It's so appropriate that Palimpsest grows organically, and expands in the hearts of beautiful humans. And that doesn't even get into the beautiful art under that link.

This is what I hoped against hope would happen when I let this city loose in the world. This connection is what the book is.

*dances*

I'm so pleased that you're so pleased!

I had a moment of concern... after the creation of the maps and the Station blurbs, I thought "what if I got it wrong?" But you've seen it, and are happy, and so I am happy.

I'm proud to bear the map on my skin, and to create maps on the skin of those I love, of a city that you showed me the way to find. Thank you for being awesome and starting our journey.

I haven't finished the book yet, but I forsee two major aspects of Palimpsest devotion might be:

Tatoo artistry.

Bee keeping.

Or combine them, to be COVERED IN BEEEEEES just like November ;-)

You really have made it as a writer now.

Just as long as it isn't someone turning your characters into five-penised hermaphrodite furries or something equally horrific...

Very cool. :)

Huh, now I have a painting idea.

I have just started reading the book, I picked it up at Powell's in Portland, OR last week. Your talent at weaving words into a beautiful tapestry just blows me away.

Congrats! Palimpsest is exactly the kind of book that encourages audience participation.

Now, I have to ask, is the Weckweet book even real? I tried to find a copy of it and found only one fansite and a single copy on sale on Amazon for $300.

I've pulled out all my librarian contacts, and I can't even find a single library in the US that has it. It's all some cosmic joke, isn't it? Your whole purpose was to drive us all insane trying to find a copy, yes? :)

It...does not exist. Maybe one day.

Damn. I figured. Wonder what you get if you order the $300 copy from Amazon? I'm impressed by the depth of the conspiracy.

You'll notice there's no purchase button.

Heh - I didn't look that far. I don't have $300 to spend even if it was real. I must compliment you. It's masterfully done :)

And I would *love* to read it if you ever do get around to it *g*

Dittoed. I'd also buy a book of architect's renderings of a few famous places in Palimpsest, if ever someone came along who wanted to and you were amenable.

*makes mental note*

I may, also, have found a few someones through Alexandra's latest PBS sponsorship push who might be interested in developing a Palimpsest skin as well as a Mu-themed one, as apparently the visually creative one of the design team is a steampunk aficionado.

Permission to hook her up with a copy of the electronic ARC, if they think they want to go ahead with it?
